Wilkins Fitness started in 2002 when Dan and Michele Wilkins opened up their first retail store, Charleston Fitness Equipment, in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. They then quickly added store locations in Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head and became the largest commercial fitness equipment dealer in the state.

Wilkins Fitness expanded into North Carolina shortly after, opening stores under the name Beurelein's Pro Fitness and Training. Steve Beuerlein, a former NFL quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, shares the ownership with Dan in the North Carolina market.

In early 2010, Ron and Stephanie combined their wealth of international corporate experience with Dan and Michele’s tremendous industry success to found Wilkins Fitness Enterprises. Ron quickly began orchestrating the national expansion plan by procuring distribution agreements, securing board seats and forming alliances with some of the leading manufacturers in the fitness industry.

Ron serves as Chairman of the U.S. Fitness Industry Dealers Association (FIDA) and also sits on the board of some of our most cutting edge manufacturers including Stimulight and RideRunRow.

Also in 2010, two more senior management team members were brought on board.
